FAQs

What is the schedule of events?

The wedding events begin on Friday, October 13th. We will be hosting a welcome party for all guests that night at a local venue. The party will go from 9pm to approximately 12am.

On Saturday, October 14th, we will celebrate our wedding!

Sunday, October 15th is for relaxing, but we still want to spend time with you. In lieu of a brunch (and in recognition of some inevitable hangovers) we have rented out a movie theatre we like, mostly due to their recliner seats. Feel free to join us for a Connor-curated flick - and to see your fellow guests in their PJs.

(all locations and times are listed on the RSVP page)

Sounds fun! When should I RSVP by?

In order to give final headcount to our vendors, please RSVP no later than October 1st, 2023. If you miss this date we may be unable to accommodate your presence at the wedding (and that would suck).

The invitation says the ceremony starts at sunset…why are you like this?

Look, we’re having a rooftop wedding and we met in art school - did you really expect us not to take full advantage? Please plan to arrive at 6:30 and no later than 6:45 in order to ensure you’re seated in time for the ceremony. We promise the views will be worth it.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Because we are hiring a photographer for this once-in-a-lifetime moment, we are asking guests to keep their phones in their pockets for the duration of the ceremony. We’d hate to have a well-meaning guest’s phone blocking that moment for our photographer to capture. Please take SO MANY photos as you arrive, during cocktail hour, on the dance floor, etc.!

What’s the dress code?

Our dress code is “disco formal”, which is an annoying way of saying nice but fun. You will not look out of place in your grooviest suit, but you will in jeans. Prints, bold colors, and crazy accessories are welcome! Please see below for some inspiration:

Is seating random?

During the ceremony please sit wherever you like (unless the chair has a “reserved” sign - don’t sit there). We have a seating chart for dinner but don’t worry, we’ve worked hard so you should be sitting with friends.

Will there be an open bar?

There will be wine, champagne, and signature cocktails during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner, and an open bar starting at nine. We’ve waited a long time for this day, and we look forward to partying with you!

How’s the parking?

Parking will be available at the venue, but as the event is downtown and runs late, we highly encourage you to carpool or Uber with other guests.

When is the send-off?

Send-off is at 1am. The venue will shut down to guests after that.

I’m traveling to Austin - where should I stay?

As the wedding venue is downtown, we recommend you start there! The Doubletree is literally next door (ideal for a mid-event shoe switch). Our personal favorite hotel downtown for staycations is the Austin Proper. We recommend you do not look for accommodations south of the river, as the wedding weekend is also ACL weekend.

Are kids welcome?

This is an 18+ event. If your kids are invited they are a) over 18 and b) listed by name on your invitation.

What will the weather be like?

God himself could not tell you and neither can I. Only the ceremony will be outside; dinner and dancing will take place indoors, although the rooftop will still be available for hangs. We have a rain plan.

Can I bring my situationship/mailman/anyone else not explicitly stated on my invitation?

No.

I have a question that wasn’t answered here-

Really?

Yeah, should I text you?

You can, but there’s also a space to ask questions in the RSVP form if you prefer ;)
